When uploading photos to this website, please follow these guidelines:
- File types
- File name
- File size
Save photos in .jpg, .gif, or .png format only. .pdf, .psd, .tff, and .doc files are not web-compatible.
Only use letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens in file names. Other characters (like question marks, percentage signs, and ampersands) may upload incorrectly or cause unexpected behaviour in galleries.
There is a 10 MB limit on all photo uploads, but we recommend using image files of less than 500 KB for best results. When it comes to image size, bigger isn't always better.
Image best practices
- Image width
- Aspect ratio
The dimensions of the original photo you upload to this website can have a big impact on how it displays. We recommend using photos that are between 1,500 and 2,500 pixels wide. Photos smaller than 1,500 pixels may appear blurry or pixelated when they stretch to fill containers, such as banners. We don't recommend enlarging a smaller photo, as this can make it appear pixelated. Instead, start with a photo that is at least 1,500 pixels wide.
It helps to ensure each photo you're using has the same aspect ratio (height : width) before uploading it, as photos are typically cropped based on their width and height. If all your photos have the same aspect ratio, it will be easier to anticipate how they'll crop.
Ensure that your photo has the correct orientation before uploading it. If your photo is saved upside-down, rotate the photo with an image editing software before loading it to our website. At the end of this step, the user is kindly asked to describe his / her photos in a few words, telling us what the photos are about and to indicate the year and the season in which they were taken.
